Abstract: To understand the status quo of the transmission of New Year rites, I did a survey of students about their customs regarding New Year's foods and dishes. I compared families with and without grandparents, the concerning in family cooparation in preparing dishes suggests certain influence of grandparents on the transmission of New Year rites.
