抄録: A survey on food education was conducted at a center for early childhood education and care in T city. The results are as follows, 1. The unique food education carried out at the center focused on the cultivation of rice and sweet potatoes, and making miso. 2. The food education activities placed an importance on the children’s autonomy and they worked on cultivation from working the soil and the children carried out the activities while being aware of their 5 senses. 3. The devised cultivation activities were implemented in locations with a disadvantaged environment. 4. Parents were enthusiastically guided on food education. These activities are considered to suggest a way to develop food education in pre-primary schools in the future.
