Abstract: Objective: To review research trends on teaching methods for health counseling activities in school nurse teacher training programs and to identify effective teaching methods for health counseling activities. Methods: Seven articles were selected from keyword searches of “school nurse teacher,” “health counseling activities,” and “students” using the Central Journal of Medicine and Google Scholar. Results: Literature on teaching methods of health counseling activities were reported in literature on exercises, literature on lectures and exercises, and literature on syllabi. Discussion: Repeated exercises of role-playing experience and reflection are effective in acquiring nursing practice skills related to health counseling activities. It is also necessary to devise teaching materials using existing studies and to examine the syllabus. Conclusion: It was suggested that health counseling activities should incorporate exercises and integrate practical training and learning in the final year.
