抄録: Purpose: We examined the relationship between “child-rearing and nursing care” and female social advancement among female university students. Method: A self-administered questionnaire targeting 219 female university students was implemented. Analysis: A multiple regression analysis with female social advancement as a dependent variable was conducted per life course (regular employees, part-time/temporary employees). Both factors of feelings associated with child rearing and feelings associated with an obligation to support aging parents were incorporated as independent variables. Results: With respect to child-rearing, a connection with social advancement was demonstrated in those who selected regular employees. With respect to nursing care, a connection was evident with social advancement in those who selected part-time/temporary employees. Considerations: In the case of those who aspired to be regular employees, those who understood child-rearing as self-growth were proactive about social advancement while those who understood child-rearing as a responsibility were passive about social advancement. In relation to those who aspired to be part-time/temporary employees, it was found that those with a high sense of duty toward physical support were passive about social advancement.
