おもてなし産業における若手人材育成に関する地域比較研究 : 京都・東京・金沢の芸舞妓の育成事例

Abstract

京都・東京・金沢など日本全国の複数花街では、芸妓(東京では芸者と呼ばれる)や舞妓と呼称されるサービス・プロフェッショナルが、高付加価値のおもてなし産業の現場で就業している。ここ数年は京都だけでなく、他の地域でも新規に就業を希望する若い人材が増加傾向にある。そこで、本稿では、日本全国の花街において、現在どのような仕組みで若手人材が育成されているのかについて、地域比較研究を行う。着目する視点として、サービス・プロフェッショナル人材の育成において重要な機能を果たすと指摘される京都五花街に共通して見られる擬似家族関係が、developmentalnetworkとして機能していることを取り上げる。この枠組みを用いて、京都・東京・金沢の各地域のおもてなし産業において、若手人材がどのような関係性の中で育成されているのかを、明らかにする。結論として、京都・東京・金沢の地域に共通して擬似家族関係が見受けられるが、機能面では違いがあること、その理由として取引制度が異なることを指摘する。さらに、擬似家族関係の機能の特徴として、キャリア形成のための若手人材が必要とする時間と仕事の場を提供しており、その結果、新しく参入した地域外の若い人材の定着を促していることも示唆された。

Commonly known as geiko (geisha in Kyoto dialect) and maiko (apprentice geisha) in kagai (geisha district) areas within Kyoto are world-famous icons of Japanese culture. This study is intended as a social scientific investigation as to why in Geisha districts, Kyoto,Tokyo and Kanazawa, have maintained their traditions and survived to this day, with a focus on career development of geisha and developmental network in these areas. With a view towards examining more heuristic facts on the basis of data, the following two subject matters were selected : 1. In terms of what transactional pseudo parent-child and sisterhood relationships are the careers of maiko or geisha developed in the Japanese Geisha communities ? 2. How does this system of dealings in the Japanese Geisha communities relate to the developmental network ?
