京都女子大学における学内無線LAN利用動向

Abstract

1990年代後半に始まったラップトップPCによる情報機器の携帯は、2000年代後半からスマートデバイスの台頭によって爆発的に普及し、大学ではそれらを受け入れるための学内LAN整備が進んでいる。京都女子大学では2001年に始まった無線LANサービスが発展を続け、2014年には約150台の無線アクセスポイントが設置され、校地の半分程度の面積で無線LANが利用可能となっている。本論文では、最近約1年5ヶ月分の無線LANの利用動向を調査した結果を報告し、京都女子大学での無線LAN利用の傾向や特徴、今後の課題等をまとめる。

The era of portable infomation devices has begun in the late 1990s and smart devices have spreaded explosively in the late 2000s. The local area networks in university campus are being developed in accordance with the trend. In Kyoto Women's University, wireless LAN service has begun in the year 2001 and grows steadily into that about 150 wireless access points are deployed in the half of the campus in 2014. This paper reports and analyses the usage trend survey of wireless LAN in the university.
