抄録: The population of elderly people of Japan is continuing increasing, and it is an important problem of Japan to keep and raise the quality of life of the elderly person. For elderly people, "to eat" is pleasure and it can become one factor to influence that improves their QOL. Therefore, in facilities for the elderly, various efforts have been done for the meals served to the elderly people with impaired chewing and/or dysphagia. We conducted the questionnaire survey on the aspects of providing diet meals in the facility for elderly in Hiroshima and surrounding prefectures, in February, 2010. This survey was carried out for 201 institutions, and the answer from 97 institutions. In this report, we represent the efforts of the facility staff to provide meals, and discussed issues that remain for supplied meals to the elderly people with impaired chewing and/or dysphagia
