ソーシャルワークにおける「ストーリー」の再構成について

Abstract

Based on case studies, this paper examines how parents of people with mental retardation can put meanings on their experiences and relationships with others by creating their own "stories." The results show that stories are not built solely on the parents' fixed psychological states. Stories change through interaction with environment, including people surrounding the parents, implying that the parents re-construct reality (themselves) through their experiences. Moreover, the study found that re-construction of stories can be an opportunity for the parents to improve problem-solving skills by understanding reality (themselves).
