抄録: Kai Kozan (1867-1961) is a Japanese Nanga painter and is considered as one of the last artists of Bungo Nanga tradition continued from the time of Tanomura Chikuden (1777-1835). Kyoto Womenʼs University houses 81 works by the artist (12 works are registered as gakuhō, or “school treasure” and 69 works are in the collection of the Kyoto Womenʼs University Library). He worked many years as the headmaster of Bunchū Jogakkō, the predecessor of the university. It was after the retirement from teaching profession in 1914 when Kai Kozan became a professional painter. Since 2019, the authors of this paper started a research project and organized three exhibitions focusing on his paintings. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the early life of Kai Kozan and his role in the history of the university while showing early important works in the collection of Kyoto Womenʼs University.2021-02-11T15:00:00Z環境温37℃における水分蒸発機能をもつ冷却ベストの効果

抄録: We have been conducting a series of studies on simple and practical cooling methods for hot environments. A vest with moisture evaporation function was designed by incorporating a highly absorbent batting material and a moisture-permeable and waterproof fabric as the cover fabric. The authors have named this vest as the “cooling vest”. In this study, the wearing experiment was performed in an experimental environment at 37℃, 40%RH (WBGT 30℃), which also corresponds to the body temperature. The subjects included eight females in their 20s. During the experiment, they wore T-shirts (T) or the cooling vest on a T-shirt (TV), or the blouson with two small fans on the cooling vest with a T-shirt (TVA). Following parameters were measured through the wearing experiments: sweating rate (Sw), clothing temperature (Tcl) and humidity (Hcl), oral temperature (tco), skin temperature (ts), and heart rate (HR) and subjective evaluation. When wearing the sample TVA, the Tcl and ts significantly decreased at the chest region. The Sw for sample T significantly increased over time. The Sw for the sample TV also tended to increase, but that for the sample TVA significantly decreased over time. The scores of thermal sensation and subjective sweating state for sample TVA significantly decreased. The subjective evaluation suggests that sample TVA is comfortable to wear and feels cool. These results can be attributed to the release of water vapor from the cooling vest and enhanced evaporation caused due to the fans. Therefore, it can be concluded that using the cooling vest along with a blouson installed with fans, the loss of latent heat can be increased without causing excessive sweating.2021-02-11T15:00:00Z宮川町花街の開発経緯に関する一考察

抄録: This study aims to clarify the history of the development in the Miyagawa-cho Kagai district. When Minami-za, is a traditional theatre, was built on the northern side and the development on the eastern side, Miyagawa-cho Kagai district became a building lot. The entire area of Miyagawa-cho Kagai was not developed simultaneously. There are three areas, one of which has watercourses to the north and south, restricting access to people. Therefore, it is assumed that the area have become a playful flower district. Shimabara, the first publicly licensed Kagai, dug a moat to restrict the entry and exit of people, but in the case of Miyagawa-cho Kagai, the watercourses played the role of the moats.2021-02-11T15:00:00Z表紙ほか
